Reflect the light that is our Lord for He is light. None of us are perfect. Sin may be unintentional, or we may knowingly step into sin. No matter how or why we may sin, Jesus is always advocating for us.
It is so important to remember that we are sinners and that we don’t meet God’s standards, because in doing so, we are reminded of what a great and a wonderful Savior Jesus is coming to die for us while we were still sinners! For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God… Romans 3:23
Sin does have a price! Christ paid the ultimate penalty for sin on the cross. But when it comes to the practical consequences of our actions, we can often expect to pay for those ourselves!
God can use anything – even the works of Satan – for His glory. But we dare never think that this makes a sin a good thing, especially in our own lives as Christ followers.
Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
1 Timothy 1:15-16 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His immense patience as an example for those who would believe in Him and receive eternal life. if you stop your sinning and begin to obey the Lord Your God He will not pour out His wrath.
“Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins.”
Hebrews 10:26
We can see in others the redemption God gives from sin and the freedom that the Gospel offers for those who are sinning.
We pray that You would keep us this day also from sin and every evil, that all our doings and life may please You. We pray that You would forgive us all our sins where we have done wrong and protect us from temptations and situations that would cause us to sin against You and others. Help us forgive others who have sinned against us. Amen
