I’ll be good this time Mommy I promise, just give me a second chance….we all know how well that works out as parents. For those that are not parents, it’s more like just giving me a fourteenth chance. This all too often happens with David he sins multiple times and asks “the Lord to blot out his transgressions” (both great and small).

I often wonder if God gets tired of forgiving His children’s sins over and over again? Yes, we can be heartily sorry. Yes, He died for ALL our sins. There are reasons I’m not God.

I know we too get like David and sin and ask for forgiveness then do good for a bit and then return to doing displeasing things in God’s sight and our conscience knows it’s wrong we go ahead and do it anyway…then later ask God forgiveness. It doesn’t seem fair to God for what we put Him through to receive His forgiveness and continue sinning.

Thanks be to our God for being slow to anger and quick to forgive and not only does He forgive He forgets, He casts our sins as far as the east is to the west, as deep as the ocean.

My prayer is this: “Dear Lord, we know we have displeased You in words and actions. As we remember our sins and doubt and our purpose in life. We also have spoken words we should have not spoken when we should have kept quiet. Into Your loving arms we put all our cares and worries. Forgiveness is found in You for this we are eternally grateful, We look to You for peace, and to serve You better tomorrow. May You grant these requests according to Your good and gracious will Lord. Let Your will be done and not our own Lord for Your ways are higher than ours. We make these requests in Your Name, amen.

May 17, 2022 by Jon_Buhlmann

On a trip traveling down the interstate there were flashing lights on the side of the road, and the first thought was a cop had someone pulled over for speeding, and the second thought it was as we got closer was a drug search but when we got even closer it was a friendly law officer helping a stranded family put a spare tire on the car. Immediately after realizing that my first two assumptions were completely wrong I felt guilty and realized that too many times we quickly judge people for the wrong reasons. I was wrong in judging the law enforcement officer and assuming the stranded people were being searched for drugs.

Why do we assume the negative first? Look at Jesus when He was being judged for eating and hanging out with the (what He referred to as the “sick” people) His intentions were pure He was correcting them and showing them the right way to live or even just to perform miracles like healing the blind or casting out demons. Yet He was accused of doing wrong, and even His authority was judged.

Dear Lord, let us seek to see the good first in ALL PEOPLE, and leave the negative for You to judge. None of us are perfect we all are sinners and need Your undeserved grace and forgiveness. We love You, Lord, teach us to love our neighbors like You love us, and see us how You see us. I make these requests in Your Name, Amen

May 17, 2022 by Jon_Buhlmann

We are NOT a problem to God! We are God’s solutions and often our difficulties are miracles or examples to other people to show them how Christians handle difficulties or various issues. Too often we feel like we are a burden to Him and we couldn’t be more wrong. God wants us to tell Him our issues, big or small take it to the Lord in prayer. Okay, just think about this He loves us enough to send His only sin free Son to the cross to set us free, so why would He not want to fix our issues big or small? He made us from start to finish, He even cares enough to number all our hairs on each of our heads.

We may not understand what God is doing, that’s when we need to pray “okay God what do I NEED to learn from these circumstances or show me how to be a living miracle or example of Your loved children. Remember our God is a loving caring compassionate God. Slow to anger and quick to listen to those who pray to Him.

There’s no wrong way to pray just talk to Him like you are talking to your best friend. Remember it’s okay to be angry with Him. Ask Him to explain His purpose in difficult times. We’re human we’re given emotional quality’s to express to Him, and others situations that impacts us both negatively or positively. I strongly encourage you to dive deep in psalms for encouragement when feeling down or depressed.

Remember what my friend always says “God is never out of control in any situation” also remember that God said “Look at the birds of the air the Father takes care of them…surely you are more valuable than the birds of the air.” Something that always brings me comfort is knowing alive God has a purpose for me and dead I have accomplished what God had planned and I’ll have gained my wings for eternity. Remember nothing, that happens on this earthly life is eternal|this too shall pass.

Dear Lord,
Help us to come to You first when we are angry and ask for Your peace that surpasses all human understanding. When we are confused give us wisdom to understand Your purpose. Let us come to You with problems big or small because You care enough to fix them, help us to let go instead of thinking we can fix them on our own. Remind us that You are never out of control. Refresh our memory that we are miracles not problems. Lord I make these requests in Your Name, Amen

May 25, 2022 by Jon_Buhlmann

This is probably the most controversial devotional I will write. But I believe in one baptism and here’s why! Let us first look at “one God and Father of all, who is over Ephesians‬ ‭4:6‬, “There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism,” Ephesians‬ ‭4:5‬, “For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.”, Romans‬ ‭6:4‬, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” Matthew‬ ‭28:19, and let us look at “Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.” John‬ ‭3:5‬. ‬‬‬‬‬

As you can see from the scriptures above baptism is for redeeming and for the Holy Spirit to work on us. It’s not a denominational purpose and there is no specific way stated how to do it. The Bible does not say a specific denomination has the baptism style correct but, stop using it as a way of membership to your church. It’s a membership to heaven!

Dear Lord,
Please forgive us when we have a miss understanding of Your Scripture. Let us ask You first to help us certainly get it right. Thank you for Your undeserved grace and mercy.
In Your Name, we pray amen.

May 27, 2022 by Jon_Buhlmann Thank God for GPS right? Today’s generation would be lost without one. They tell us more than a roadmap could.

May 27, 2022 by Jon_Buhlmann

Thank God for GPS right? Today’s generation would be lost without one. They tell us more than a roadmap could. But what is it about trusting GPS voice commands or highlighted routes to get us to where we need to be and not using God’s GPS or His voice commands? Not trusting Him to get us around detours, avoid accidents, detours, or tolls, troubles in life’s journey. Do we sometimes put God’s voice commands on mute? Do we not know the road map to heaven is the Bible? Do you not like to read? Have the bible read to you. Do it in a year, do it as a spiritual feeding rather than a task.

eading God’s word is part of our spiritual GPS, but we need to ask God to help you understand the road map because sometimes maps can become confusing. If you trust your GPS to get you to your destination you can trust God’s road map, the Bible, and His plan for your life, which leads you to eternal life in heaven, your goal, and your final destination.

Lord help us to trust Your GPS and Your plans you have for us through life’s accidents, and emergencies. Help us to keep us focused on You and Your plan for us no matter what distracts us from our journey and ultimately our final destination to our eternal home with You Lord. I make these requests in Your Name amen.
